Petrina Garbarini is an artist from Cape Cod, MA, who has been passionate about art since an early age. Her art education began in childhood and continued through academic coursework, classes, and workshops. Petrina's degree in Architecture and long career in design and construction afforded her a satisfying professional life, realizing the creative ideas of others in built form.
Petrina experienced a welcome evolution as an artist following her mother's death in 2016. Her inward focus that year allowed for experimentation and less reliance on precision. Petrina confidently expresses herself as an artist and currently enjoys collage and mixed media. These are departures from the techniques learned throughout her life and the structure of those processes. Architectural references and linear elements continue to play a role in Petrina's art as do thoughtful composition and use of color.
Petrina owes thanks to a long list of teachers, past and present, and to family and friends who generously encourage her. Petrina exhibits her work in local juried shows and sells art on commission.
